According to the " PURANAs" Hindus had 33 crore gods .

I think , it might be the total population of Bharat( INDIA ) at that time.
And the writer considered every human being in the region as GOD.
WHAT AN INCLUSIVE PEERCEPTION!

By the same analogy , we now have 115 crore Gods!
